Port of Mombasa

Gateway to East and Central Africa

The Port of Mombasa is one of the largest and busiest Port in the East and Central African region, providing direct connectivity to over 80 Ports worldwide. It is linked to a vast hinterland comprising Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, Northern Tanzania, South Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia connected through a multi-modal transport system. The Port has 22 berths divided between conventional cargo and container terminals. It also operates a modern cruise terminal for handling cruise vessels.

The Port of Lamu is a world-class maritime facility built to modern global standards and equipped with cutting-edge infrastructure.

As a key component of the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) Corridor, the Port of Lamu is a transformative hub for regional trade that integrates road networks, Standard Gauge Railway, International Airport, Resort Cities, Oil Pipeline and Refinery.

Port of Kisumu

The Lake Port

The Port of Kisumu is the largest lake Port in East Africa region and a key transit hub for cargo transportation across Lake Victoria.
The Port offers a critical link in an integrated East African rail and water transportation system connecting Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania with a focus on petroleum and conventional cargo.

Shimoni Port

Premier Fishing Port

The construction of the Shimoni Fish Port in Kwale County marks a significant milestone in the efforts to harness the potential of the Blue Economy in Kenya. The modern Port dedicated solely to fish production, processing and value addition will transform the local economy, increasing opportunities for the exportation of the finished products to the region as well as local consumption.

Small Ports

Kenya Ports Authority through the Port’s 2018-2050 Masterplan intends to facilitate development of small ports taking due cognizance of the long-term development framework as outlined under Vision 2030.

Inland Container Depots

To bring Port services closer to our customers and increase cargo offtake from the Port to the hinterlands, we have constructed Inland Container Depots at Nairobi, Naivasha, Kisumu and Eldoret.
