The Authority has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the Green Port Policy through a partnership with Trademark Africa (TMA) to achieve environmental sustainability.
Speaking at the official handing over of the Green port policy session held at the KPA headquarters, Managing Director Capt. William Ruto emphasized the crucial role of green policy in the port business.
He urged swift and comprehensive implementation of the key areas outlined in the policy to address emerging environmental degradation affecting the working environment.
The MD noted that the green port policy is an important step towards ensuring a sustainable future for the port operations.
He stated that the Authority is committed to working closely with Trademark Africa to implement the policy.
On her part, Trademark Africa Country Director Lilian Ndegwa praised KPA for its ongoing partnership and expressed her enthusiasm for the rollout of the policy.
General Managers Evelyn Chibule and Dr Sudi Mwasinago (Corporate Research Planning and Compliance) and (Cargo Operations) respectively, and senior managers from KPA and Trademark Africa were present during the event.
