KPA Peer Educators excel in national festivals

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Peer Educators swept the podium in the ongoing 90th edition of the Kenya National Music and Cultural Festival, winning three categories on Monday with hopes of winning more.
The annual event held at Dr. Babla Secondary School in Ukunda attracted corporate companies, universities, polytechnics, youth groups and traditional dancers.
KPA peer educators were the m
ain attraction of the day as Mzee Kombo and Bunu Adiyo sent the audience in raptures presenting the play Chikungunya. Mzee Kombo was in his usual best - as he showed his wide skills in entertaining the crowd.
Perhaps the day's highlight goes to the stand-up comedy, Dhulma Mji wa Totongwe also performed by Kombo as Dr. Balaa highlighted challenging social issues and ways to cope.
The other accolade of the day went to the ever charming Bunu Adiyo whose captivating story telling narrated in the Kibajuni dialect from Lamu received a standing ovation from the crowd.
Later in the day, both the KPA Taarab group and the traditional dancers were to take the stage; with the latter - presenting a Borana wedding song which was billed as a
KPA Peer Educators on stage with their play entitled Chikungunya
strong contender for first position.
The event will officially be closed on Thursday, with winners of categories getting the chance to entertain the Kwale Governor Hon. Salim Mvurya at a sumptuous gala dinner.
The event organised by the Ministry of Sports, Culture and the Arts is meant to showcase talent and foster national integration efforts.
